Tips for Opening Your Own Photography Studio

Opening your own photography studio - baby laying on a bed

Opening my own photography studio was one of the biggest game changers for my newborn photos business. Many photographers start out photographing either outdoors only, in their clients homes, or even creating a studio space in their own home. If you don’t know anything about my own business history, I started shooting in my living...

Why I became a professional newborn photographer

Why I became a professional newborn photographer

I often get asked why I became a newborn photographer. Most women I know in the newborn and family photography industry started their businesses after becoming moms themselves. They started taking photos of their children, bought a nicer camera, took better and better photos, and realized they could turn it into a business. My story...

Boston extended family photographer: tips for amazing pictures

Boston extended family photographer: tips for amazing pictures - large group family photo in Arnold Arboretum

I love being a Boston extended family photographer! This might actually be an unpopular opinion, but I think they are so much fun. So many combinations, its kind of like giving my clients multiple family sessions bundled into one. As I prep for a 7 week old at the studio… I’m often asked, “how old should my baby be for newborn photos?” Every photographer has a different opinion for the perfect age for newborn photography. My personal preference is 2 weeks. BUT, while there was a time that I felt pretty strongly about this, I really don’t care that much how old your baby is when I photograph them anymore. I’ve actually heard of photographers turning clients away because their babies were “too old.” Is your baby a month old right now? Two months? Email me! We’ll have a great time and get gorgeous photos, no matter how old your baby is for newborn photos. #bostonnewbornphotographer #newbornphotography #bostonfamilyphotographer #familyphotographer #newbornphotographer #motherhood #familyphotography #bostonnewbornphotography #babyphotography #bostonfamilyphotography
