Baby Bump Love

One of my biggest regrets when I was pregnant with my oldest was not getting maternity photos done. I thought I wouldn't like how I looked. I thought I'd rather prioritize newborn photos. I thought I'd just take photos of myself with my phone.

But the truth is I look back and wish I had documented that time before everything changed, when my body was miraculously growing a human. I did take photos with my second, and when I look at the photos now, I remember how my life was in that moment. I think about what it felt like to rub my belly and feel little kicks and hiccups, rather than the nausea and heartburn.

Maternity sessions are ideally scheduled around 30-34 weeks, when you have a nice bump, before you start getting too uncomfortable. The shoot will last 30-60 minutes. The whole family is invited, including partners and siblings.

In the Spring, Summer, and Fall, maternity sessions can be done outdoors about an hour before sunset. My absolute favorite location is the Arnold Arboretum, on the border of Jamaica Plain and Roslindale--a short drive from downtown Boston. Or, maternity sessions can be done in my Dedham studio all year round.

Don't want to buy a fancy maternity dress just for these photos? No problem, you can wear one of the gorgeous, bump-friendly dresses I have stashed in my client closet.

Ready to get on my calendar?
