I’m so excited to work with you! I’ve been photographing babies and families since 2012 and working with my amazing clients is one of my favorite things about this business. I know that every photographer does things a little differently, so I wanted to outline all the details, so you know exactly what to expect with my Boston newborn photos.

Booking Boston Baby Photos
To book your session with me, you will need to pay your session fee and sign my contract. The contract is pretty straight forward, but it basically just outlines my policies, verifies that you understand my pricing, and gives me permission to photograph you and your family. If you have any questions about the contract, definitely let me know!
The session fee is non-refundable and does not include any digital files or products, or go towards your package purchase. One week before your session, I will send you an invoice for the price of my smallest package, which is due by your session date. After you receive your proofing gallery, you will have the option to upgrade to my medium or large package.

Boston Newborn Photos Scheduling
If you are booking a newborn session, we will choose a tentative session date and time about 2 weeks after your due date. As we all know, babies can arrive anytime, so I assume that this date is just a placeholder, and not your final session date. I ask that you let me know within 48 hours of baby’s birth so I can be as flexible with schedule your official session date. Studio sessions are are booked on Tuesdays and Thursdays mornings, and in home sessions can be booked on any weekday morning.

Family and Maternity Session Scheduling
Outdoor family and maternity sessions are scheduled for 90 minutes before sunset. We’ll agree on the date, time, and location before you book. 95% of my outdoor sessions are done at the Arboretum in Roslindale. Depending on the weather and time of year, I have a bunch of different areas that I love to shoot at. I’m looking for ideal lighting as well as backgrounds, and will give you an exact location a few days before your session based on the forecast.

Rescheduling
Keeping everyone safe and healthy is a top concern, especially when working with infants. If I am sick, I will not do a newborn session. If someone in my home is sick and you are comfortable with it, I can wear a mask and of course use hand sanitizer, as I always do before touching a newborn. If someone in your family is sick, please let me know so we can decide together whether to reschedule. On both sides, being upfront and honest about any health concerns is always best.
For outdoor sessions, I am constantly looking at the weather forecast. If its looking like rain, or it will be very cold or very hot, we can reschedule the session. I can be flexible in waiting until the day of to make the call, and I lean towards extra communication to make sure we’re on the same page.
In some cases–specifically not during the Fall, I might be able to reschedule your session for personal reasons. However, during the Fall, I’m often shooting 4-5 sessions per week so I don’t have a ton of flexibility to move things around, unless its for illness or rain. You can always ask me, and I will try to make it work if I can.

Ordering your Digital Package
During your session, I will take hundreds of images. After your session, I will go through every single image and cull them down to your 60+ proofs. I will send you an online proofing gallery where you can either choose your favorites, or upgrade to my larger packages. After you place your order, I will hand edit your choices and send you a digital download of your favorites!

Ordering your products
When you receive your final images, you can download all the photos in color and black and white. Please be sure to back these up in an additional location!
Now, you’ll have access to all of my professional printing products. This includes fine art prints, canvases, framed prints, matted framed prints, cards (holiday and baby announcement templates), acrylic blocks, and metal prints. I am happy to help you choose images for a gallery wall, or choosing the best image for a canvas. You can also send this link to friends and family, in case grandparents would like to purchase something as well.
