You might be thinking, Boston Lifestyle Family Photographer, what? Yes, 95% of my sessions are done in my studio or at the Arboretum. But, I occasionally shoot family sessions in my clients homes. I know this isn’t always ideal for all of my clients (cleaning your house, not enough light indoors, etc.) But if it’s the right fit for you, I’m here for it!
Here is a bunch of information I wrote about how to prepare for one of these in-home family photo sessions. Be sure to check it out!
A perfect example of what works
This is a great example of a gorgeous family session I did recently, with a family I’ve been working with for years. I have photographed each of their three children as newborns, and done family sessions in between. I love that these images are a perfect representation of their family, showing off their personal style and creating a sense of intimacy.
“Omg. THESE PICTURES!!!!! Easily my favorite photoshoot yet…I tear up every single time I look at them, they are absolutely perfect!!!”

What to expect – where we shoot
We started in the main bedroom, with everyone snuggled together on the bed. After a few quick shots on the couch, we went into each kiddo’s room to get some shots of them in their own spaces. Then we headed downstairs for a quick snack (a perk of being in your home) while I took photos of mom and dad on their own. After some shots on the couch and stairs we went outside for some quick shots on the front steps. We ended the session with a cake smash in the foyer that the whole family joined in on.
Why you should book a Boston lifestyle family photographer
There’s just something special about seeing a family in their own space. While I love my studio, the occasional Boston lifestyle family photographer session steals my heart. If you are interested in booking a family session in your home, let me know and we can make it work!
