This family photography with newborn session was so special. We had a maternity session together back in November, and I immediately loved this couple. One of the best things about my First Year Collection, which includes up to three sessions within 18 months, is I get to know my clients so well. During their maternity session, we chatted about their life, how the pregnancy was going, and how excited they were for this baby. By the time we did their newborn session, we felt like old friends.
David definitely read my newborn session style guide and came perfectly dressed in a white textured henley and neutral jeans. Laura chose one of my favorite cream dresses from my client closet (I’ve actually worn this dress for my own professional family photos–twice!) and we chose an adorable neutral colored outfit for baby boy Gael. (While I would never buy something like this with 100 buttons for home use, these sweet details are something I love for family photography with newborn outfits!) Their outfits fit in perfectly with my neutral colored backdrops in the studio, making their images look cohesive, and keeping the focus on that sweet baby and this gorgeous family.
We had a great time during their family photography with newborn session, while Laura and David just snuggled baby Gael. He was about 3 weeks old when we did this photoshoot, which is a perfect age for newborn photos. He kept his eyes open for the whole session but was so calm and happy.
Laura and David are so sweet, I can’t wait until we do their family photos later this year. It will be so fun to see the progression from their maternity session, to this newborn session, and then to their family photoshoot. I think its so wonderful to document all of these stages with professional photoshoots!
