What is better than Spring Boston Family Photos? OK, if you talk to any Boston family photographer, they are going to tell you that the busiest time of year for family photos in Massachusetts is the Fall. Of course, there are benefits to the Fall season for Boston family photos. Earlier sunset time, cooler temperatures after a hot summer, and of course the gorgeous Fall foliage colors.
Yeah yeah, this is all lovely. But there are also some real drawbacks. (This is why I love Spring Boston Family Photos)
If your family is anything like mine, September is stressful with transitions back to school and a new classroom, and your kid might be exhausted come dinnertime and on constantly on the edge of a meltdown. Add in a new slew of germs and viruses that everyone immediately catches after summer break.
As we saw last year, the weather in the Fall can be unpredictable. Did you know that in 2023 there were only 2 weekends in the Summer/Fall that didn’t rain? I certainly did.
That brings me to the biggest issue–the Fall is busy season for photographers, which means I am typically fully booked and only have a little flexibility for rescheduling. If I need to reschedule a few sessions during the season, its not usually a problem, but it gets a little trickier when the weather is SO bad.
One way to avoid all of this drama is to schedule your Spring Boston Family Photos–or the other option–Summer! Summer is great for families with older children, since sunset is so much later. And Spring is my favorite for families with littler ones!
The absolute best part about Spring Family Photos in Boston is all of the gorgeous flowering trees. My favorite location for shooting family photos is the Arboretum, and there are a wide range of flowering trees that start in early May and go all the way through June. Because I’ve photographed there almost exclusively for years, I really know the best spots.
