Kid friendly restaurants near Roslindale. Elusive? No.
Once upon a time, my husband and I loved going to restaurants, coffee shops, and breweries, and were always down to try a new place we hadn’t been before. These days, life looks a little different. I live in Roslindale and have two boys, currently 2.5 and 5.5. Now its all about where we can cause the least destruction, avoid dirty looks, get both the kids to eat, and get in and out quickly to be home by bedtime. It’s all about kid friendly restaurants near Roslindale.
West on Centre
Our go-to for meals with family and the kids, West on Centre in West Roxbury is completely kid-friendly complete with a coloring kids menu, crayons, and those little wax sticks for the kids to play with while they wait. The kids menu has multiple options and comes with carrot sticks that somehow my kids actually eat? Its like magic. They also seem to seat all the families together (or maybe we all just go at 5pm) and no one seems to mind my overly friendly kiddos.
Boston Ale House
Also in West Roxbury, Boston Ale house also has a kids menu (though it isn’t online and from what I remember slightly more limited) and they give crayons with their coloring menus. For some reason my kids seem to behave worse here, but the restaurant itself is kid friendly.
Green T
Green T in Roslindale is a major win because they have smoothies AND a bunch of kids books. This is more of an activity destination in itself than a restaurant, so we love visiting. One caveat – if you go in the summer, be prepared for someone to get soft serve ice cream and for your kid to have a freak out over getting one. Just me?
Chilacates
We love coming here for the outdoor patio, the kids will eat quesadillas, smoothies, and chips with guac and we don’t mind if they make a mess or are loud outside. Its usually pretty quiet and they can even run around in the back part away from the street and we can eat in peace.
Sophia’s Grotto
OK I’m putting Sophia’s on here with CAUTION. I wouldn’t say its the most kid friendly place, BUT if you sit outside, you won’t mind if they are loud and make a mess, and they have pizza and pasta, which my kids will both eat, so if we want to do something fancy, we come here. They do have kids plastic cups, which in my book, says bring your kids.
The Substation
You could catch us here on any given Friday after school pick up with a bunch of Ollie’s classmates and their families. I will say that all the signs you see with kid rules are because of our crazy kid group, but generally its very kid friendly. We like to bring a bunch of art supplies and try to keep the kids sitting and then chase them around yelling, “no running” until we’re exhausted and go home. Sometimes, we order pizza.
