February break is over and both my kids are back in school! If you’re like me, the last week (year?) was spent at different indoor play spaces around Boston, trying to keep your kiddos entertained. Luckily, the end is in sight for Winter, but if you’re still looking for some entertainment on the weekends, here are some of my favorite spots for indoor activities with kids in Boston!
Children’s World Indoor Playground, Canton MA
This has been a favorite spot for a long time, we even had my big kid’s birthday party here last year. Its my go-to if I have both of my kids alone for the day. Am I the only person who cannot leave their house with two kids alone? They immediately run in opposite directions so this location is perfect because its one giant room. So even if I’m with my toddler, I can still see my big kid across the room in one of the giant bouncy houses or playing with the millions of toys they have. I usually meet up with a friend here and we just sit at a table and chat while the kiddos run loose.
Boston Children’s Museum, Boston MA
An obvious one, but a favorite. We love to take the train downtown and go to the Children’s Museum, which creates a whole other activity rather than driving. If you live in Boston, you probably already know about the Children’s Museum, and all the fun activities they have for various ages. My kids have loved going since they started walking. I used to take Rory and head straight to the PlaySpace, which is just for 3 and under, and stay there the whole time. My (almost) 6 year old still loves it, and could spend 2 hours just in the giant climber that goes all the way to the 3rd floor. They just opened a new Daniel Tiger exhibit, and always have some new activity in the Art Lab. If you happen to go on a Saturday, check out the Boston Fire Museum just down the street, which is free!
Museum of Science, Boston MA
Another one you probably already know. I have so many memories of coming here as a child, its so fun to see the Museum of Science through my own kids’ eyes. One thing I love about the museum is that children of different ages can enjoy it. Even if my little one doesn’t understand all of the exhibits, he loves everything with a button, the dinosaurs, and the animal shows. My oldest loves the lightning and science of magic shows, and gets excited to see each rotating exhibit. We actually have a membership here, so if we only visit for 2 hours, it doesn’t feel like a waste.
The New England Aquarium, Boston MA
The Aquarium is another classic Boston option. Favorites include watching the penguins get fed, walking up the ramp around the tank, checking on the octopus, and seeing the giant sea turtles up at the very top! This is a great place to bring younger kiddos who aren’t walking yet, where you can keep them in their stroller during the entire visit.
The Ecotarium, Worcester MA
The Ecotarium is like a mini Science and Children’s museum combined! Lots of fun interactive exhibits, and they have a planetarium! There is even a little kid area that’s perfect for 3 and under. Bundle up and go for a walk to see the otters on one of their walking paths, or check out the nature playground!
Launch, Norwood MA
There are a handful of trampoline parks in the area, but our favorite is Launch in Norwood. We love to go to toddler time on the weekends from 9-11am. Littler kids running around, and a cheaper admission ticket (with a free adult) makes a huge difference! If your kiddo loves an arcade, this place is for you!
Winter Indoor Activities with Kids in Boston
I hope this list of Indoor Activities with Kids in Boston helps you get out of the house this Winter! Maybe I’ll see you there 🙂
